Hall Clock

This is a clock with a large presence. It captures the viewers attention and holds it as they contemplate the dynamic mechanism. The clock movement is framed by a large dial that defines its space. A sphere made from a light and dark wood rotates slowly displaying the current phase of the moon.

Materials : Baltic birch plywood, select hardwoods (walnut, purple heart, maple etc.), stainless steel, carbide, steel, bronze, leather

Size : 1235mm wide by 1395mm high by 320mm deep. Suggested height to centre of the clock from the floor ~1620mm.

Drive: Weight driven 28 hour movement - manually wound once a day or an electric motor (120VAC). 

Mount: Wall mounted

Additional Notes : The hardwoods used in the hands, weight accent, pendulum blocks and the moon can be ordered to suit. The large dial encircling the mechanism can also be customized. (With a previous commission the client requested that the hour sections of the dial be a collage of corks and the hour indicators made from pieces of wooden barrel.) Various hardwoods and treatments are available.
