Materials : Walnut, stainless steel, carbide, steel, bronze, leather, C5 Symphonic Chime

Style : Wall mounted, with chime striking once on the hour, motor driven (120VAC constant torque)

Size : Width 450mm, height 1800mm, depth 230mm. Suggested height to centre of the clock from the floor ~1620mm. (Wall socket about 200mm above the centre of the hands.)

Design has been ongoing for some while and has changed for this commission. With respect to the chime strike I want a very delicate single note on the hour. I am not looking for something that will echo throughout the foyer.

Walnut plywood has been made with three plies, 4mm thick. Sheet size is limited to 400mm squares. (2023/02/27)

Test set consisting of the 80 tooth wheel and a number of the pinions have been cut from the walnut plywood. The pieces have been bevelled and sanded with good results. The plywood had been in multiple indoor environments over the past two months and has remained flat. (2023/04/19)
